Orchestrating Orchids

I photo'ed the orchid painting in progress. Started with a metallic finish, then drew on it with charcoal. It resisted paint a little, which added to the effect of ageing and depth, so I was quite pleased but also worried that it would wear off. A layer of varnish helped with that.
